Swiss Chard with Caramelized Onions

Serves 4-6


Ingredients:

Onion, 1, thinly sliced

Oil, 1 tbsp

Swiss Chard, 1 lb, stems and leaves separated

Garlic, 4 cloves, minced

Thyme Leaves, 1/2 tsp

Sage, 1/2 tsp, minced

Salt & Pepper to taste

Lemon, 1, juiced


Directions:

Place onion and oil in a sauté pan over medium heat, caramelize, this can take about 15 minutes. Meanwhile chop the stems of the chard into 1/2 inch pieces and the stems into 1 inch squares. Add the stems to the pan cook for 5-7 minutes until softened.


Add the garlic, thyme and salt and pepper. Season with salt & pepper and stir for about 30 seconds. Add the chopped leaves and cook down until wilted. Add the lemon juice, stir well to incorporate and
